The picture posted shows 1.19 for the Bullseye line, however it depends on which specific bullet you are shooting. For the common 200 grain H&G 68 Semi-Wadcutter bullets 1.24 to 1.26 seems to work well. Something like a round nose flat point (RNFP) 1.19 would probably be appropriate. Those are only guidelines and can vary depending on the gun, magazine, chamber combination.

Use what "plucks" and feeds in your gun, if the OAL needs to be short adjust charge down a bit.

the old timers, me included, say to seat deep enough to leave a thumbnail thickness of the full diameter section above the case mouth.
I agree for SWCs. Some guns are not picky on them some a little OAL difference makes the difference between trouble free and Jam O matic.

Your book makes a suggestion, the OAl column on the far right, but I don't see that is says what type of 200gr bullet, SWC, RN etc.
Even then all 200gr SWCs are not the same shape so OAL can vary.

You don’t say what 200 gr bullet you are using. If it is a SWC design, the old timers, me included, say to seat deep enough to leave a thumbnail thickness of the full diameter section above the case mouth.

SWC's can be problematic in 1911's as stated above. Leaving the thin .455 diameter of lead exposed above case allows soft lead to shear & guide bullet into/onto stubborn ramps; feeds much better (in some guns) than seating a bit deeper.

From 1986 through 1994 I shot Lee 200 gr semi-wadcutters or H&G semi-wadcutters in our Bullseye (conventional Pistol, 45acp) 25 yd winter league game.
I strove to seat the bullets to feed reliably at 800fps+/-, learned a lot and eventually shot better than most. Certainly improved more than most (But consider that I was starting from zero experience prior).
An occasional malfunction alibi was tolerated but best avoided.

I'm a bit heretical, but HANDGUN rounds need to be short enough to fit and function through the magazine and long enough to feed through the mechanism.
Pistol powders (for .45 ACP anyway) are all fast enough to load variable lengths without much heartburn (unlike many rifles). The bullet to leade 'jump' is likewise not very important.

FWIW there are two common 200 gr SWC used in 45 ACP. One, IIRC is the H&G 68 clone and has a slightly rounded, shorter nose. The other is a Lyman 452630 which has a longer "T/C shaped" nose. The book OAL for the 68 clone is 1.161" and the Lyman is 1.235", so going by the book you must know exactly which bullet you have. But I don't pay much if any attention to the book OAL just seat to about 1/32" of shoulder showing which works with both bullets, plunks great in 2 of my 45 ACP guns but my Ruger P90 doesn't like them at all...

These are 200 grain. They work just fine in several 45ACP’s including my Series 80 GoldCup , a Taurus Millennium Pro and CZ92. As well as a S&W Model 25-2 and a Colt SAA. 3AE9C920-0332-45E9-A4A3-D345614B41D4.jpeg

Push those bullets back where bullet shoulder is flush with case mouth and they won't feed in all 1911's.......ask me how I know.

Short enough it runs through the magazines.

Seat it deep enough that it drops into the barrel easily. I load as long as I can and still drop in flush. That's my starting point. I've never had an issue as long as it "plunks".

You MIGHT have feed issues if you go too short.

I have one that's picky and one that isn't....

Mag and gun makes a difference as well, some 1911s+mags will feed empty cases.

I'm a big fan of the checkmate Inc wadcutter mags. They'll feed empty cases, full wad cutters, SWC's et al in my guns and are safe for aluminum frames.

Plus, they're cheap.
