The famous-name brown truck just drove up and delivered one of Dixie Gun Works' 1858 Remington (Pietta) Shooters' revolvers in 44 caliber. This is one incredibly nice gun; there is no end-shake in the cilinder, almost no side-play in it either, and the trigger is great. The polish and bluing are excellent, with pretty walnut stocks that fit well. Too bad that it is too late to shoot it today. (DGW RH0135)

I had a customer service issue with DGW on this purchase and they were absolutely great to deal with. They serviced me promptly, even speedily, I'd say. That is another good reason to buy from DGW when you want something in the BP line.

I cleaned the shipping gunk from the surface, oiled the mechanism, and cleared the nipples. Now, tomorrow, I can really go to town.

I'm in love

Spent some time shooting the Pietta in my back yard today. Nothing special, just informal plinking. Smooth and reliable are good words to use here. The action must have been smoothed, because it is just that, and the trigger is quite good for an off-the-shelf pistol. Now, to the range after I get my moldable inserts for my Ransom Rest.

Be sure and post how she shoots ..inquireing minds want to know more about the shooters Remmie .
