Rem 7 mm mag to ultra mag

You could burn more powder in fewer shots. While it would extend the useful range of a hunting rifle in theory, few of us have the skill to make responsible use of the rifles better ballistics, and the higher ammo costs would make regular practice more expensive.

The greater advantage might be spending the upgrade money on training and practice so that you can do everything that your current rifle can do.

You could burn *30% more powder for *10% more velocity.
With *40% more recoil & muzzle blast.
And *50% less barrel life.

(* Unconfirmed but fairly close Estimates for shock & awe effect only)

Yea!
Thats the ticket!

7 ultra is better for shooting through brush I think. Its a good brush gun.

:scrutiny:

Brush guns fire big, heavy bullets at relatively low velocity. The 7 RUM is pretty much the opposite.

Pretty much. If you want an increase in performance, go with tht 7mm STW. It'll do eveything the RUM will, but with 15-20 grains less powder.

Unless you have a single shoot your magizine probably will not except the longer round and the action may not also. 7mm rem mag works in a standard lenght action like a 30.06 use's. the rum uses a magnum lenght action. You will kill a barrel quicker too.

Ammo is waaay costlier with the RUM. Spend the money on some basic reloading equipment and you can step up above the factory velocity a good bit . Not hard to get 3300 fps with a 139gr sst 7mm rem mag. After 400 to 450 yards both cartidges are heading to the ground fast.
