I would like to Rem-Choke my 12ga 30” full choke 3” barrel. Do all 1100 barrels 30” chambered 3” have the same o.d. at the muzzle?

I'd call Briley as well as Mike Orlen in MA. Either should be able to answer your question and perform the work.

Since it's already a Full Choke, it seems like you'd have to cut it back "some?" to make use of the Rem-Choke?

I have had one original Remington barrel fitted for RemChokes. The gunsmith was a friend and did it on a lathe making VERY small cuts. Most gunsmiths, including Mike Orlen, can/will not fit RemChokes in an original Remington barrel because the barrel OD is too small. They can fit other makes of choke tubes.

I had a gunsmith put thinwall tubes in a 30" 1100 full choke barrel so I could shoot skeet. Been in there for six years of use so far. I think it is Colonial American or some such. No shortening involved. Cost me about $60 including the i.c. Tube. Sadly, I think he's gone. I wanted to do an 870 with high rib.

Colonial, Carlson'd Briley and Trulock are the 4 big US names with Briley being the 800# gorilla in the room. British maker Teague is excellent if you can find someone here who does it.

I don't think so. Some of the older Remington's can't be threaded for Remchoke tubes. They MIGHT be able to be threaded for some other aftermarket choke tubes. You might contact these folks for a more definitive answer.

Briely will do about any barrel. I have had 2 Skb barrels and a Charels Daily Barrel done by Them. Great Work!!. Bothe the SKB barrels were to thin for anyone else to touch. Briley Did them No Problem. They specialize in thin wall Chokes. When I bought my skb 20 gauge I was thinking about using a different choke maker. The barrel dimensions were right on the border for that maker. Even they said to go to Briley as they were not sure they could do the barrel. If Briley can't do it No one can. I am quite sure they can do your barrel no problem.

Yes I can. BUT Make sure To Not Get a Choke tighter than Modified for Steel. Briley make Chokes for Steel. Anything Tighter than modified they mark as Lead Only. Go to Their website. It is a very easy Process. They are the only folks I deal with when it comes to choke work. When I bought my skb 20 gauge I was thinking about using a different choke maker. They are no more expensive than any other choke maker. One thing I know is the work and choke tubes are the highest of Quality.
