Any concerns? Talking about factory reloads - i.e. LAX Ammunition, Freedom Munitions ... etc.

This would be strictly for range use. My concern is not accuracy or even reliability. My top concern is safety. It's kind of like relying on someone else's reloads. Anyone with good or bad firsthand experience?

ok

My opinion and experience-
I have never had an issue with remanufactured ammo. I have used it for years. I would assume the tolerences would be the same as they require the same FFL paperwork as a new manufacturer. (I am sure somone will correct me if I am wrong)

IMHO, there's a pretty big difference between trusting: (1) the proverbial Origin-Unknown Reloads; and (2) rounds reloaded ("remanufactured") by a commercial reloader. I won't go near the former. I'll shoot the latter all day long, as I would rounds reloaded by someone whom I trust to reload properly.

25 years ago, I got thousands of rounds loaded by the now defunct National Bullet Company. It was great stuff.

I was just going to say that a lot of the factory ammo we're seeing today isn't much better than someone's reloads. If you want 100% safe reliable ammunition - you gotta make it yourself. When I started reloading 30 years ago that was not true but it is now.:scrutiny:

That's a fact. The Glock on my hip right now is loaded with my own. I trust mine because I know exactly what is in it and what went into it.

I have been running Georgia Arms Canned Heat for years. Many thousands of rds in 9 & 45, FMJ & JHP. No problems and very accurate + they are very easy to do business with.

I've used thousands of rounds of MBI in both 9mm and 45ACP with no major issues. Haven't used Freedom Munitions as much, but no major malfunction (Pvt. Pyle) either.

There were a few here and there that were FTF/FTEs but I've had FTF/ FTEs etc. with factory new also.

I don't shoot much of either anymore since I've been reloading for a few years now.

I second that vote

Freedom munitions is pretty awesome. Have bought and fired 1000's of perfect reman rounds from them. They make NEW also so I think that is a PLUS in the process.

I have not used a lot of remanufactured ammo but never had any problems. The only difference was the cases were from different manufacturers. Plenty good enough for plinking or practice. Mostly I use my own reloads.

The only remanufactured ammo I ever got was for my birthday from USA ammo. Which I don't even think exists anymore. Never had any problems and functioned just like new factory stuff. The only way I could tell it was remanufactured was the brass was a little tarnished.

Commercial reloads: ok
My own reloads: ok
Someone else's reloads: probably ok, just not in my guns.

I've purchased some remanufactured 5.56 of various headstamps and never had problems with any of it.

Thank you everyone. I'd just order 5 boxes of 40S&W from Bullets.com to test the stuff out. Pretty good deal for $67.45 (5 x 11.50 + flat 9.95 shipping). Comes out to 0.27 a round. Not bad at all for 40S&W.

The OCD side of me kind of wishes they would sort the headstamps..Its just kind of weird to look in the box and see 18 Speers, 14 CBC, 10 Win, etc etc. All the ones i have shot have gone boom in the good way though. (a few hundred)

I have no problem with commercially remanufactured ammo. I won't use anything reloaded that isn't mine or commercial.

My only gripe against commercial reloads is sorting the brass. I like to sort by headstamp. So if I use commercial reloads I get a whole bunch of headstamp a that I don't use in reloads.

Being a handloader, I don't have wide experience with "remanufactured" ammo, but I have shot enough of the old Master brand and Atlanta Arms to consider them as good as anything on the market.

And I won an IDPA match drawing for some Black Hills red box .45 SWC that led me to change my own loading. I now load to the OAL and crimp of the Black Hills, not what the Internet Experts say to do and reliability has improved. Accuracy remains good.

But then there is the Gun Show Plastic Baggie stuff. Too many bad stories about that.

I have shot 9mm commercial reloads from Jack Ross that worked ok but were dirty and felt a tiny bit hot. The company ended up being scammy and I think went out of business but has reopened.

I have also shot gun show reloads in an M1 garand.

I just dumped the powder and reloaded them with trailboss beforehand.

No concerns. Remanufactured ammunition isn't Billy Ray Joe Jim Bob making handloads...it's actually commercially manufactured in strict compliance with industry standards.

This is not to say that one manufacturer will not be better or worse than average, however, same as for any new manufacturer of ammunition.

Remanufactured ammo from a reputable dealer is no problem.
