Since I went overseas I haven't shot (like I shoot in HP) for over a year. I finally got to shoot a match last weekend and disapointed myself a little with a mid-Expert score...but I took notes of all the things I didn't do right and tried to work them out over the last week. Sunday I shot another match and this time shot a 481 at a 500 point match. Much better. I know it's still in me, and it can be improved upon a lot...just gotta keep knocking off the rust. Ya'll wish me luck. ;)

I know the feeling, I just recently got back from a year overseas and my skills suffered. It comes back quickly but it sucks having to work up to where you were when you left.

competitve shooting, Service rifle in particular, is a pershiable skill. It requires constant work to keep the edge on. Even then it is not always so easy. I tend to go thru little slumps from time to time that can drive me crazy. The fact is though that 95% is all mental, and the rest is physical conditioning and muscle memory.
