My grandfather has been looking for one because his was stolen some 20 years ago and I found one for 149 but sure I could get it for around 100. is this a good price for it??? slight pitting to the barrel stock is not to pretty but it could be fixed

i feel that is an excellent deal for 550 in good working order. in addition to external condition and bore, i would check extractors, 550 has two. the inside extractor has tendency to break.( later mods 550-1 and 550a only use one extractor) my 550 has to be kept clean and lubed in order to cycle somewhat reliablly. i get quite a few jams as it is, ammo seems to make a difference. i like a lot of things about the 550 over the 552, but 552 is much more reliable, less finicky.

I inherited a 550-1 and love it. Extremely accurate for a semi, but does like the higher-power stuff for reliability in cycling. Buy it!

Long as the bore is clean $149 sounds like a good price. If you can get it for less that's even better. Really nice ones go for a lot more.

I like the 550 for it's ability to shoot shorts. CCI target shorts are nearly as quiet as CB caps out of this gun. A good clean gun will even cycle with CB caps, but even a dirty one will function with the target shorts.
