Good Lord!:( I can't believe I posted that over here. I was on 2 forums back and forth. Thanks for correcting me. No Remington Pistols have nothing to do with Armscorp. I did order a Rock Island 1911 10 MM today. Thanks:)
were you by any chance talking about those hideous american standard or whetever they're called. A friend just got one and wow is it ugly. Grips like a cheese grater, and some kind of spider web in the hammer spur. But I have heard the RIA makes Remington from a few people, (despite no import marks) so I think thats why people jumped on ya.

From my original review

The EGW HD extractor combined with the smooth yet light operating flat wire spring ejected hot brass up to 10 to 15 yards away. This highlighted one of the reasons why I loved revolvers so much — no chasing brass. With the original spring not only did the brass have distance upon ejection, the landing area was eradict. Some of the brass would be way in front of the firing line, some behind the firing line and some out to the right of me depending upon the manufacturer and load. It was really like a scavenger hunt looking for 10MM Auto brass on the range though the pistol performed flawlessly. Happy with the pistols performance I knew immediately I had to do something about this. A little research and speaking with the good folks on the Para USA forum over at M1911.org specifically Mr. Bud White. I decided to swap out the flat spring with a Wolff Extra Power #20pound recoil and firing pin spring which requires and extra long plug made by STI.

Interesting enough the Wolff recoil spring was a tad shorter again the need for the STI plug but the original firing pin spring was longer than the aftermarket Wolff, I did proceed with changing both. After changing both the skeletonized trigger still broke at 3 1/2 to 4 pounds according to my RCBS trigger guage.
As for the grips directly from VZgrips at the NRA show -- "If they are to aggressive spray them down with WD40 and sand them down to your liking"

Great tips, thanks mr.revolverguy. I might have to give the springs a try. TBD on the grips. Maybe they'll grow on me. Maybe I'll use my hogue rubber grips. Or maybe I'll try to smooth them out. (Range) time will tell I suppose.

I got a chance to take my Para in to a local shop and the owner whom I have known for a long time let me compare it to a Remington Hunter. Side by side we disassembled both, we field stripped and disassembled the slide and long story short they are the same pistol with different marks. The one minor difference was the fiber front side on my Para is green on the Remington it is red.
