Hi Folks,

So my girlfriend recently purchased a really nice Remington 1100 Skeet B in 20 ga, with a fixed skeet choke barrel. I'd like to get her another barrel for christmas, preferably one with interchangeable chokes.

However, here's my question: The Skeet B in 20 gauge is a 20ga barrel mated to a 12 ga reciever. I can verify that the barrel of off my 12ga Remington 870 has the same size barrel lug as the 20ga. Is that a standard size across the 1100 line? In other words, if I buy an off the shelf 20ga 1100 barrel, is it going to fit that receiver?

If such a thing does not exist, I'd like to find her a barrel with a tighter choke to help her out on the trap/sporting clays side of the game.

Thanks for the help!

i bought a x frame 20ga 1100(12ga frame) in very good condition with a I.C. choked barrel and found out that barrels for it are very costly when found. i did the next best thing, i sent the barrel to mike orlen and had it threaded for choke tubes for 75.00. eastbank.

Eastbank,

Thanks for the tip on that. I didn't even think of having the existing barrel threaded. I'll look into that, that seems like the ideal setup. Looks like finding another barrel for what I want is going to be both difficult and expensive.

Thanks!

i think the 1100 x framed 20ga marked skeet B is worth more than a regular 1100x framed 20ga, maybe it would be better to sell it and buy a 1100 20ga with choke tubes. eastbank.

And if you plan on shooting it much, I would go ahead and find a/some extra shell latch(s). The original Remington versions are long gone, and I have not seen any aftermarket hold up as well.
