Hello all, my question is about the breakdown of an old Remington 1889 SxS shotgun that I inherited some time ago. For reasons unknown, I cannot remove the barrel(s) from the gun. After removing the foregrip, I should be able to break the barrel open and it would lift right off of the receiver, right?
I try that process, but the barrel will not be removed. There is no slop in the receiver or any other moveable parts of the gun. The shotgun has been examined by a clerk at one of my LGS's, they didn't understand why the barrel could not be removed.
Am I overlooking a very simple feature of the gun? I don't want to damage this family heirloom. Thanks for the assistance.
