Hello, I'm trying to figure out what a good price is to sell this Remington 1911. There's been no sales of this gun lately that I can find so its difficult to appraise it. We all know Remington went bankrupt and out of business so I doubt they will be making these in the near future, maybe they will not make them at all. Can you please give me some opinions on what you would sell this for? Theres no blemishes and the owner says it has only been dry fired a few times.

Last retail pricing I could find on the Remington 1911 R1S with the high polish stainless steel was around $1100. On trugunvalue.com they show one NOS selling for $1900 six months ago. I suppose that if the gun were mine I would put it on gunbroker.com and go with a starting price of $2299 and see what happens.

Now there's a puzzlement...the Remingtons were a solid 1911, but not that big a deal when they were in production. Have seen the polished version; they are a pretty gun.
Not sure how that affects the value.
Listen to Bannockburn; run it up the flagpole and see who salutes. Good luck.

Have you checked their website recently? I had thought all the 1911s were gone when I was selling my R1 double stack, then noticed sometime recently they have most of the lineup back in production.

Which is good, if they are the same quality, since they were a solid mid range 1911.

I like mine, wish I had purchased two. I was able to get the clerk to pull three, and I picked the one that was the best combination of tightness and good trigger. I am picky, picky, picky.

Shoots to point of aim.

A shooting buddy of mine, into Bullseye Pistol, was using a Remington Huntsville made 1911 in competition. He sent it to Clark Custom Guns, Princetown LA,

And Clark's told him, there was no need for a match barrel on his Remington as the Remington barrels were good.

Like the two-tone look and those Cocobolo grips go perfectly with the gun!

There's just something about Double Diamond checkered grips that goes together perfectly with a 1911!
