What is the value of a Remington Rand (approximately)?
Depends on what it is and the condition. There is alot to know about Remington Rands. They produced a bunch of guns and some are more collectible than others - but all are worth having if you "can get it for the right price".
Type I and Type II Remington Rands are the most valuable and the more common Type III's are the least valuable.
Be aware that are quite a few "Demo Pistols" from Remington Rand out there as well, but the last one I was aware of being for sale went to a well known 1911/1911A1 authority and I was not privy to the selling price. You don't see these availiable very often as of yet - so I'm not going to give a WAG as to their value.
An orginal high condition (near mint) Type I or Type II could be worth as much as $2500-$3500.
A high condition Type III could bring $1200-$1500.
Just about any condition orginal finish WWII 1911A1 is worth $600-$1000 depending on the person buying. Even mixed or re-built guns bring decent money these days as long as the frame and slide are real USGI.
Now nickle plated war trophys are another story.... No collector I know will give much for them. Usually $400-$700 - If that.
These are best case prices and many USGI guns still go for less in private sales all across the country. Some clowns on GB are also asking premium money for really common guns as well - so it all evens out.... I should not have to mention these things are getting more and more valuable with every passing year. They arn't making any more of them and every year some moron cracks his slide or blows up grand pappys .45 shooting it with uncle Bob's re-loads....
The best advice I can give you as to value is - KNOW excally what you have. Once you know that, no one can BS you and you shouldn't be BS's anyone. All you need to do is find the right buyer and the right time.
