Rem 341P

I found one at a local gunstore. Naturally it has been used extensively. No bluing left. Someone decided to do their first (perhaps last) checkering attempt on the pistol grip. Does anyone know what the asking price should be? They want $129.

I have never fired a rifle in my life, only air rifles.
my father has just bought one of these model 341 (i think its the p variation, havnt even seen it yet).

iv read that its a good gun to learn with? it being very old doesnt bother me as long as it works properly and is fairly accurate.
its bought under the counter, so no license and getting ammo will be a problem, and annoyingly here in ireland you can only get like boxes of 50 rounds, not like usa where yee can get boxes of 500 for like 15 bucks. damn irish gun laws.

Every now and again I get asked some variant of “What is that?”
“It’s a Remington 341-P my dad bought for me when I was 12.” (Christmas 1968)
The rifle came to me with the old stock held together by two large wood screws where previous owner had busted it in some accident concerning a boat. Never re-blued or refinished. The old thing looks her age; no one would love her at first sight. She’s a little cranky in that she doesn’t like new hyper velocity ammo; she spits the stuff all over the target at 50 yards off a bench, but she fine with cheap Remington Gold, with Remington Target she’s shot groups which can be covered with a quarter and has got down to a nickel size with Eley Tenex. Not bad for an old gal with peep sights. My 1989 stock Ruger 10-22 can’t come close to her.

I've had a standard open-sighted 341 a couple of years now. It came with refinished wood and metal, but the bore looks really good. Haven't shot it yet, but if it groups half as well as my old 510P, it'll be a tack-driver. What is it with these old Remington .22's? Even the old pump Model 121 shoots like a house on fire. Back on the 341: the lifter mechanism is considerably more substantial than that of the newer 512. I had trouble with my last 512, took it apart and found the mechanism rather flimsy. My $15 510P would probably embarass most Kimbers and such. The Remington old .22 bolt-actions don't have the same collector value as old bolt Winchesters, but they worry the bullseye at least as well.

am i the only one that owns one? It's a full-sized rifle from pre-wwii. My dad taught me how to shoot with it. And if i do my part, it'll still hold it's own. It came with peeps (gone) but now it's got an old weaver 4x scope. It's deadly accurate. .22 s, l, lr with a tube mag. Bolt-action. Made '36 to '40. Heard of it?

i have a 341-p remington bolt action rifle. By serial number, it was manufactured in 1936.
