Did Remington change trigger assembly styles during the production run? I have 2 rifles, a 308 and a 243. The 243 's bolt will fall out so I was going to take the bolt stop out of the 308 to see how to modify the one that doesn't work to match it.

The assemblies are built differently and I am now curious as if one of them has an after market in it or they made a production change.

Thanks!

All factory M788 trigger assemblies that I've seen, are pretty much identical. That would cover 222, 223, 22-250, 6mm Rem and 243, for those are the varieties that I've personally tinkered on. Canjar once made an aftermarket trigger, Timney now does.

Supposedly all bolt stop pins are the same, regardless of chamberings. If your bolt falls out, the tip of the bolt stop pin is broken off. That's a fairly common malady, from letting the bolt continually slam back against the pin.

New pins are available and cost about $20 with shipping, last I checked.

Ok thanks! These two are bbuilt differently. When I slow down I'll get a picture of them and post it. One may be an aftermarket I don't know...

yes , there was a slight change, old style and 'new style' , If you could call them that. But there is deff a difference.
timney triggers makes and aftermarket trigger, for both styles, I believe.
