Having trouble re assembling. Whats the trick? Can't get the trigger housing to fit flush. Magazine 'liner' is binding on something.

It can be a pain. I start with bolt out, and floor plate open for easier access. My steps-

Hold barreled action in left hand, upside down.
Insert mag "liner"
Put bottom metal in place
If it hangs up (usually at rear, where "liner" may be open), gently wiggle liner into alignment.
Once it's in, insert stock screws.
Flip over, insert bolt, have fun.

I generally lay the barreled action upside down on the bench cradled in some folded rags (assuming there's not a scope attached obviously), then I properly insert the magazine box into the action and make sure it is fully seated (you may have to squeeze the box a bit by hand to get it to drop into place, be gentle). After I'm sure I've got the mag squared away, I gingerly slide the stock down over the top of the mag box and seat it onto the action.

If you do those two things properly, the bottom metal should just drop right into place. Any time I've had one hang up on me, it's been because I dislodged the magazine box while lowering the stock. If that happens, pull the stock back off, reseat the mag box, and reinstall the stock, being more careful this time. ;)

It's like playing "Operation", but in reverse.

Also, it ought to go without saying, but since nothing seems to anymore, make sure you unlatch the floor plate on the bottom metal and swing the spring and follower up out of the way while you're trying to install the bottom metal. Leaving that spring and follower in there pressing on the magazine box is a sure way to dislodge it from the action before you get the three assemblies mated.

i have had a little trouble like that before also. you have to make CERTAIN the rifled action is fully seated into the stock before installing screws. set it into the stock squarely, try wiggleing it around, squeeze it together with one hand and move the action with the other. i can feel mine slip into place. when this happens, slide the screws in, snug them up litely, then draw them both down.

BDL

Typical. Jiggle, jaggle, and then snap! it all fits.
Thanks for the help.

I pulled my BDL mag apart about 1/32" so it's like a spring and stays in the action even right side up... the action holds it together so there is no gap in the back
