Now that interesting. Sounds about right for a modern 31 replica too. The replica moulds are a good bit smaller and not very round.

If you have a powder scale, see what one of the bullets weighs.

If you will e-mail me your address, mec, I'll run some lead through that old, rusty thing and send some balls and bullets from it to you. You can load some conicals from an original mold on top of some of that old powder you have and be 2/3rds of the way back to 1850!
