Remington R 1 1911

I got enough money saved up to buy one (about $600 I hear), does anyone out there have one of these 1911s yet? I was saving up for another Colt Commander, just got a Para GI Expert and love it, cheap entry level but good .45. just wondered on the quality, accuracy etc. I am headed for Ft. Hancock Texas in October (occupied territory by the drug cartels) and am gonna take my 2 best 1911s with me. (plus my best CQC rifles too). input appreciated.

I dont think the R1 is going to be a big step up from your Para GI Expert but from the reviews I have read it is a good pistol.

Trebor, on here got one in his hands and did a nice review on it. I respect his opinion and that is what I am going on.

I handled one at gunshow two weeks ago the guy had 619.00 on it told me he would take 600.00 the pistol was pretty tight an had a very nice trigger I'd guess 4lb and broke crisp. Made in USA I think this will be a nice pistol to own. I just didn't have the extra cash or that one would have been mine.
