Target at 50 yards. Left, 45C with various weight/style bullets with 3F. Taylor’s conversion cylinder. Right, round ball with same weight powder charge from percussion cylinder. 7578E407-D774-4A11-8876-50BA719E40AB.jpeg
It would seem the carbine prefers round balls.
Neither is any good accuracy wise maybe a few hundred more rounds with different powder charges. Photo saved from Bullseye Camera.

CAS now routinely calls for 10 rounds from the rifle, everybody is using one or another pistol caliber lever action. Back when they thought 5 rounds per gun was enough, there was a guy who campaigned one of those Revolving Carbines. His scores were not real good.
But the guy with the .25-20 pump gun cleaned up.

Oh ya, no where near done with this. It’s a hoot to shoot. I’ve got 5 styles of 45Colt bullet molds in three weights. 230 grain round nose, 200 grain SWC(a 45ACP bullet) 200 grain round nose flat point, 250 grain RNFP and the 200 grain Lee tumble lube. Lots of 3F powder and an unlimited supply of lead. Sadly only 1000 LP pistol primers. :(
