Anybody own, or shot a new sparten 45-70. I saw one in a magazine. I really, really need one of these. I mean really. Like sell some stock really. Like work a second dog training job really. its only about $600 or so.

I assumed you meant "Spartan", so I did a search under that name. Besides the Russian shotguns Remington imports under that name, it appears that they are going to have a side by side and a single shot in centerfire rifle calibers, but I couldn't find anyone who had actually held one. Of course, I'm too lazy to go throught all the pages that Google comes up with, too.
On the Remington website (not the most user friendly, in my opinion), these rifles are listed as "SPR".

Don't hold your breath !!! Remington promises many things then fails to deliver.That's how I got a very fine rolling block -made by another company !!!
