Does anyone have experience shooting Remington's power level ammo? Does it live up to the hype? Or does power level 1 kick like a mule?

It works like advertised.
It is what it is... a large capacity case that has been 'down loaded' to lessen recoil and energy.
Pretty handy, the reloading bunch have done it forever, but most find the load that 'works' and stick to that particular load.
The level 1 dose indeed recoil on par with the 30-06, given the same projectile weight.
Take the .300 Remington Ultra Mag. round...you can enjoy 30-06 like performance
(level 1), kick it up a notch for say the elk monster with .300 Winchester Mag. performance(level 2) and after the boss gives you that big raise you so deserve and you find your yourself out west contemplating a 400y shot at a goat... level 3, full power .300 Remington Ultra Mag.
Kinda like having a 600hp engine in that corolla you love , you'll very seldom need it... but when you do, you have it.....lol
