I've got a CMP M1 Garand, and while I love the thing, I do have some difficulty using the rear aperture sight.
The problem is that I am very nearsighted and rely on high strength contact lenses, which can sometimes cause a mild halo effect. While my vision doesn't affect my ability to use the peep sights on my AR-15, Enfield, or M1 Carbine, I have a difficult time properly using the sights on my M1. The M1's rear aperture is so small that I will often lose the front sight unless I'm in full sun or using a bright target that contrasts with the front sight. I hate to degrade the accuracy potential of the M1 but does anyone make an rear sight aperture for an M1 Garand that is larger than standard?
