I recently bought a ruger mkll with fixed sights.
The sights work fine for plinking cans etc. But I took it to the range the other day and I could not see the sights against the black targets.
Does anyone make replacement sights for a fixed sight Ruger (only ones I can find is for adjustable sights)? If not I'll probably just put a dab of light colored paint on the front sight.

I had the adjustable sight one but you could get the fiber optic front site cabelas had it the cheepest .

I really liked it till i put a red dot on .

Due to the fixed and pinned design of the fixed front sight, your aftermarket options are somewhat limited. Millet makes a front sight with a white stripe that may help, but you need to drill the post to match the through-pin.

Couple thoughts on living with whatcha' got. Painting the front blade may help (use fingernail polish, model paint or even white out correction fluid).

Another thought is to use a "six o'clock hold" when punching paper. Instead of aiming for the middle of the bull, aim so the front sight is just kissing the bottom of the bull and shoot for groups there (the 6:00 position). Good way to practice for tight groups, although some range expert will probably tell you you're anticipating the recoil, which is why everything is hitting low...

Or you can turn the target over and shoot at the backside; most target paper is pretty thin and you can still see the outline of the bullseye.

Last night I put some of my daughters silver nail polish on it . I'll give it a try and see how it works. I experimented on some black backgrounds at home and it seems to be much better.
Thanks for the input
