Folks,
Does anyone know where a person might find a replacement stock, either synthetic or wood, for a Remington Model 770 in .308? One of the sling holes ripped out on mine (the first time I slung it up). The gun is accurate, but the stock sucks. I did not find one at Boyd's.

Also, if not available, is there another model of stock (710, 783, etc.) that would work, or is it unique?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Best bet is to call Remington. I seriously doubt if anyone makes an aftermarket stock for it. I'd not be surprised to find that a stock will cost you more than the gun is worth.

I'd epoxy the stud in place and rock on. Or drill another hole in it and remount the stud.

The "studs" are molded in on those. I had one in .300WM that was an absolute tack driver. Shot better than the 700 that I had (go figure). I got out trusty Mr. Dremel with a drum sander and made a flat spot where the molded mounting points went. Then I drilled holes and used bolt in studs with epoxy over the nuts for good measure. They did great.
