Replacement trigger for Ruger American rifle

My brother recently bought a Ruger American rifle in .308. It comes with Ruger's version of the Savage Accutrigger, which he doesn't care for.... for whatever reason... and wants to replace it with something like a Timney. I know absolutely ZERO about replacement triggers for rifles like the Ruger...

Who makes a decent aftermarket trigger for something like a Ruger American? How difficult is it to replace? I didn't have enough time to look at his rifle before he took it home to Corpus.

Is the factory trigger workable? I told him he can reduce the weight... but I'm not sure why he's reluctant to at least work with the factory trigger in lieu of replacing it.

Any hints or comments are welcome...

The trigger is good enough for me as is. IMO when you buy an inexpensive budget gun it's not a good idea to start throwing aftermarket parts on it. The money is better spent on a better rifle to begin with that doesn't need new parts.

There are some things that can be done to the factory trigger.

I thought it was a good trigger out of the box. For that matter, I'm still using the factory set AccuTrigger in my Savage. I opined that my brother was not used to the dongle, yet, as I found there was a bit of a learning curve to using it effectively.

However, I don't see what's wrong with upgrading a rifle... even a budget one. The rifle shoots MOA... how much more better can you get for a hunting rifle, just by throwing money at a more expensive one? I don't see a problem with spending money on the trigger... it's his rifle, and his money. Of all the things you could put money into, the scope and the trigger would be my choice, in that order, hence my question.

I know a guy that bought Timney replacement and likes it very well. But personally I have no experience
