I have a surplus cz-82 that bites the hand when shooting, and i read that a stiffer recoil spring from wolff will help with that. Well, I have to have both that gun and my sigma up near max loads in order for it to correctly cycle. Otherwise, the slide will occasionally catch the shell on the way out and jam up the gun. Would a lighter spring for each gun remedy that?

Since you are having the same trouble with two different guns?
Sounds like more grip or limp-wresting problem with you then a gun / guns problem.

Learn to hold as high on the grip as your hand allows.
Then hold hard, and lock your wrest like you were punching someone in the face and see if that helps.

sorry for being confusing. It's not the bite, I use wsf with the cz-82 and the gun is notorious for biting the webbing of the hand. It's that the shell gets caught facing forward in the slide, like halfway out but still facing downrange unless i load pretty near to max. i hold it pretty tight but i'll try stiffening up a little bit.

Agree with Tuner. Oversprung. As for the bite, the CZ, Walther PP series, copies, and near clones all have that issue. It can often be solved by carefully observing what exactly is happening. Sometimes a sharp corner can be gently relieved to cure the issue. There are other things that can help, too. Just have to pay close attention to what is causing the issue.

Oversprung, you mean that i have to high weight of a spring correct? The back is smooth, gun has a wonderful feel in the hand. It's just that the round is so snappy and I've had to load to max load with WSF (which in 9mm luger I realized produces MUCH more percieved recoil vs 231).
