Has anyone had any luck/success with the replica Aimpoints offered on ebay?
Want to find a red dot lick it for my Saiga 308.

Thanks

primaryarms.com

theyve got good prices on the best quality clones, I have one on each of my 'social' weapons

Any issues?
I am looking at the Vortex Strikefire or one of the aimpoint clones.

Another option: Ultradot. Top quality, less expensive than the Aimpoint, but not a "clone." Ultradot products dominate bullseye competition, where they are mounted on .45 pistols -- often on the slide. They should handle the recoil and piston slam of a Saiga .308 without any trouble whatsoever.:)

They don't have the Aimpoint's incredible battery life, but they don't eat batteries alive, either. You just might have to replace one after a year or two of use...

Another other option would be a Millett "Redot." Battery life on the lowest setting is equal to an Aimpoint on 7, but that's still quite respectable. And they're also extremely recoil and abuse resistant. Milletts are reputed to be one of the few brands of "cheap" Red Dot that can survive on a .454 Super Redhawk.

I got one of the Aimpoint micro clones that Primary Arms sells.

It's pretty darn good*. I've got it mounted on my Uzi's topcover and it's pretty nice**. Well worth the $80. BSW

*For values of 'good' that include a battery life measured in days instead of years, dubious waterproofing, front signature, higher minimum intensity, and lower maximum intensity.

**If this if for a weapon that might be called upon to save your (or someone else's) life, don't cheap out on optics. My Uzi is a range and training tool, not a ready use gun.

VORTEX Strikefire!!!

Vortex Strikefire... best cheap reddot you can buy.

I agree 100%! I have 2 of them and i recommend them to anyone who is looking for this style and look! I think they are amazing quality and very dependable! Sportsmans Warehouse by my house CANT keep them in stock!! Its amazing! They are $149 new. I didn't get mine online so im not sure if there are better deals but... VERY worth the Money! :)

Vortex Strikefire is ok. I find they are a little smaller than I prefer but they function well. Please don't buy a Chinese knockoff. Every time you do god melts a 1911.

I just got a Vortex Strikefire for my Saiga 7.62x39. Wonderful for the price. And it looks really cool.

Another vote for the strikefire. If they had a bit better battery life and got rid of the auto shut off id never buy another aimpoint. As it is though there a hell of a bang for the buck.
