Last year around april i started selling off my semi auto pistols to fund more wheel guns. Well Last month at some point i realized how much i missed my sr1911 and would love to get another. Well lucky for me i sold mine to one of my closest friends. I mentioned it to him and he was all for selling it back for the same amount i sold it to him for. He shot it once, cleaned it and its been sitting in his safe since. So last week I got it back, and tossed a set of g10 grips on it. Looking forward to taking it out and shooting it again! Ive decided to fallow my old mans rule and stop selling/trading guns from here on out.

I really like mine. I had one before and sold it, regretted it and bought a new one, won't be selling this one. It has all the features that I have wanted in a 1911 at a good price point.

I dont plan on parting with it.

I have a Remington that looks almost identical (minus the black finish where it appears on your gun.) Admittedly, I have yet to shoot it, but it looks and feels great. I expect to enjoy it, and desire to keep it, as much as you do your Ruger.

I had a Kimber 1911 back 10 years ago and loved it, I sold it like a moron and regretted it ever since. Last year I got another Kimber 1911 5" barrel and I'll hang on to this one.

A few weeks ago I came real close to scratching it and it made me sick so it stays in the safe full time (except for range days) and I got a cheap Tisas 1911 5" barrel to be my do everything 1911, if it proves to be reliable, haven't shot it yet.

... and it's understood.

I've been on both sides of those back & forths and each side has its pleasures. Good for you getting the same one back.

Todd.

We all love a happy ending ...a 1911 happy ending, that is.

(And I'm sure we all learned the hard way not to sell or trade guns unless they're absolute junk.) I miss every 1911 I ever traded off or sold and strangely, I remember each one quite well..

Way to go on getting your 1911 back! I have told this story before but many years ago I had a Colt Combat Commander that was part of a limited edition made up by Colt's Custom Shop. It had been accurized, had the barrel throated, been fitted for a Gold Cup trigger, had a rear adjustable MMC sight installed, and had the prettiest bright nickel finish I had ever seen on a gun! And that was the problem: I thought the gun was too fine looking to ever shoot it! Now a friend of mine didn't have that problem and made me a very generous offer to buy it and I accepted it with one proviso: that I had the right of first refusal should he ever decide to sell it.

Some years went by and I had moved out of state for awhile but had now come back home. First thing I did was check on my friend to see how the Colt was doing. Oh it shoots really nice he said, like a Gold Cup only less finicky about ammo. Now I had to get it back! So when Colt introduced the Officer's Model ACP, my friend wanted one but didn't have the money at that time. So I picked one up and added one of those surplus Walther P1s to the deal and so I got my custom Combat Commander back!
