Revisit Crosman Mark 1 Target

Finally got some Co2 and pellets.

Placed Co2 cartridge in grip bottle neck down and screwed grip cap back
in as tightly as I could by hand.
No "noise" of pressure and after "cocking" to second level and inserting pellet- NO JOY:banghead:

The end cap on the butt doesn't screw in all the way with the cartridge
installed and the pin doesn't pierce the cartridge.

Don't want to ruin this gun, so any suggestions for remedy is welcome

Tim McMurray at Mac1Airguns is known for his custom work on them. If I recall right, he has a $100 bounty for MK1s. He has a wealth of info on them and would be helpful. I hazily recall some of the info he told me about the MK, that the valve was especially awesome for such an inexpensive air pistol.

As I recall there is a small lever on the end cap.
After the cap is screwed down you operate the lever, that pierce's the cartridge
seal releasing the co2 gas.
