I made the mistake of leaving two new boxes of .357 Magnum ammo on the dash of my car with the windows closed, today. It was 102 degrees air temp. Inside the car had to be 120 degrees+.

Did I do damage to this ammunition?

Thanks

Not a bit.... But if you were to shoot it when it was heated like that you would get higher than expected velocities (slightly). Still, nothing to worry about.

i know its an old thread....

That is how ammunition comes on the semis that take it to the store you buy it at. its not air conditioned or heated. Its as is.

its locked in the back of an uninsulated semi, nestled right up against that case of shampoo and case of dog food. The ammunition hits the same temp that makes the shampoo explode in summer, and shatter in winter. And it hits the same temp that makes the can of dog food explode in july.

Na, I've exposed mine to Arizona temps, and for much loner periods. 102 would be a nice cool day in Arizona during the summer months.
