Hi I am faced with a dilima on which 2 revolvers to buy to be my only 2 guns. I am selling my glock 23 and I know I want a SP101 that has been my favorite gun I've owned and regret selling it. The dilima is wether I want a GP100 or a 640. I like the idea of the GP100 being more versital as a home defence/range/woods gun. But the 640 would give me more options for CC. I also considered buying the 3 1/6 inch SP101 to acompany the 2 1/4 inch SP that I already know I'm getting. If I could get some of your guys' opinions I think it might help me out a little thanks

If the SP fits your needs for concealed carry then I'd opt for the GP/SP combination. If you need something smaller for concealed carry then I'd get the SP/640 combo. The SP is a great gun that can fill the fullsize as well as a concealed carry role. You need to determine what your strongest desire is, fullsize gun or concealment gun for a companion to your SP-101. All these guns are excellent and you won't go wrong with any of them.

I have a wife and three kids along with that comes limited funds this is why for right now I am limited to 2 guns

Good idea. How about getting one with a bobbed hammer and the other without. FYI - I carry my SP101 more often than my Glock 26. I shoot both well, but there is something about the SP101 that inspires confidence.

The GP100 is a great choice too. I think it's a little large. Perhaps something to consider if your wife is going to be shooting it also.

Lastly, I would compare the GP100 to the Smith & Wesson 686+..you get an extra round (7) out of the 686 which is also something to consider for HD.
