I have two revolvers bought new years ago and want to establish an approximate value for each of them for insurance purposes. Would appreciate some comments in this regard.

1. SW Model 19 Combat Magnum (.357 mag), four inch bbl., blue with factory target walnut grips, serrated trigger, bought new in 1973. Condition: 90%.

2. Colt Cobra (.38 spl.), two inch bbl., nickel-plated alloy, Colt wood grips, bought new in 1973. Condition: 95%.

The model 19 would be around $285.00.
The Colt is the second issue of the Cobra. It would be around $400.00.
That is what they list for in the condition described.
That being said, it depends on where you are located. I have seen the model 19 go for 275.00 to 350.00.
And the Colt, I have seen for as much as 450.00.

If the M19 is pinned and recessed, that's about a $25 to $50 premium. If it has target options (wide trigger, wide hammer spur) $25 premium each. But what Johnny said was correct. $275 to $375 range.

You can also do an advanced search on a www.gunsamerica.com for those guns and limit it to sellers in your state. That way you can see what local market value is in your area. Otherwise I agree with the values listed.
