A little late to answer the OP but I have CZ75's in 9 and 40 and a RIA tactical. In my opinion, I prefer the 9mm CZ over the 40cal version. I feel the CZ 75B was designed as a 9mm and is best in that caliber. My 75B compact 40 has been perfect with factory mags but I have read many more complaints of 40 cal CZ's over 9mm's. Just something to think about.
As to the RIA-VS-CZ purchase that is a hard one. If you are looking at the GI 1911 I would get the CZ first. The GI RIA I had wore out the web of my hand after extended shooting so the CZ is more comfortable to shoot. I also like the CZ sights over the GI factory sights. If you are dead set on a 40 CZ remember 40 ammo at Walmart is 2 dollars a box cheaper than 45. If you are looking at the tactical RIA, I would flip a coin. Also RIA's customer service seems to have a better rep online than CZ does if you were to ever need it. Good luck David
