Well, I'm looking at the RIA 1911 pictured below. It looks in overall good condition but the price seems good. Too good to be true; $445.00 (+40s&h+20ffl). Supposedly retailed for $800.00. I'm asking about the round count now, but aside from the grips and nickle it looks to be a baseline model. No combat sights or any of that.

What do you think?

TAKtical is right. Unfortunately that model is their newer Nickel Government Model. Should be able to find it new for $425 or so. Their Matte Nickel Tactical Version (Novak-style sights, BTGS, Extended ambi-safety, Hammer and Trigger upgrades) goes for $449 almost anywhere.

With the mags that could still be considerec a good price, but I personal would avoid buying from someone who attempted to mislead me by such a large amount

He may be confusing it with the Cimarron 1911s which Cabelas (and only Cabelas) sells for around $800. Other locations though sell them several hundred cheaper. The Cimarrons are also made in the Philippines which is maybe why he was confused? But as others said I'd be more cautious now that I know the seller was potential trying to dupe you.

Decent price, especially with the mags. Although they never retailed for anywhere near the $800 mark, they're stupid reliable for the most part and CS is good if you do happen to need it. My two favorite 1911's are a Springfield and an old Charles Daly, made by the same company as the RIA pistols.

I'm just saying, with our currency in the toilet, be prepared for the price to jump further than that in a couple of years.
This has little to do with inflation and has everything to do with a seller overstating the sales price. No need to soap box about the status of our currency when it's pretty obvious that's not what's causing the price disparity here.

Inflation is real, but that doesn't mean that $800 was ever a reasonable price for a RIA GI model

RIA makes good guns, the OP can decide if (unknown used condition + magazines + available right now) is more valuable than (new condition + 1 mag + have to order and wait)

For what it is worth, unless you do some bubba-type home gunsmithing or have a professional bubba it for you ... the RIA warranty is on the gun regardless of who owns it at the moment ... so if it is stock/unmodified then it will be warrantied by Armscor.
