The good news about RC Is that I plan to start a little series on some of the things he did and told me about. I hope to make them a tribute to him in an entertaining way. standby may be a few days, I am grieving and collecting my thoughts on RC-- the heart and soul of THR.

I've been on this forum just under 3.5 years but it did not take more than a few weeks to notice the RC really knew his stuff. I also grew to appreciate his bluntness because one could tell it came from honesty (and agreeing with him most of the time didn't hurt either). I saw a little bit of Jeff Cooper in him.

His death is a great loss for the community.

I always looked forward to RC's postings, such a breadth and depth of knowledge. My deepest condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.

Rest in peace, sir. Thank you so much for everything.

Condolences to all friends and family. The board has suffered a great loss.

I had so hoped to meet him someday, to run into the legend at a Kansas gun show. Not to be I guess. Maybe in the next life or at a nice reloading bench in Heaven.

His practical advice is unmatched by anyone here.

Words can not describe his selfless nature or uncanny ability, to convey his wealth of knowledge in simple terms that even people like me can understand and learn from.

...... His spirit will not be forgotten.

May he RIP and enjoy Heaven for eternity.

Oh God, no... I can't tell you how many private conversation we had. He will be truly missed. My condolences and prayers to his family. Thank you for being my friend, even if only online.

Sad news...rc will be missed.

On a personal note...just based on my experience caring for my father before he died, RC must have been an incredibly strong person to accept with good grace that his "retirement" was really the start of a new, unwanted, unpaid, unplanned, overlooked, and too often thankless career caring for someone with dementia. I admired the knowledge and generosity he demonstrated here, but it sounds like what he showed here was truly the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
