RMR 75 grain range results included below:
Finally got a good afternoon to get to my range and re-zero my AR’s I used in a recent carbine class last month. This is after modding my 12 year old DD V2 with a new hand guard, grip, and trigger.
The two AR’s are a DDV2 with new DD 16” barrel, Aimpoint Pro, and CMC trigger. Second is a SOLGW complete lower with ALG ACT trigger, Burris 1-6 on a BCM 16” upper. Both barrels are stock, cold hammer forged. Shooting was done off bag rests. I am NOT a good bench shooter.
Here are target photos. Targets shot from bench at 50 yards. 10 shot groups unless otherwise noted:
Pic 1. left side targets shot with BCM upper w/Burris on 6X. Right side pics with DDV2 w/Aimpoint Pro (and old eyes!)
Top targets: Russian Steel 55 FMJ
Mid targets: Fiocci 55 Gr SP (8 each)
Bottom targets: RMR 75gr over 24.5 VV N140, mixed unsized brass
Pic 2: Wanted a couple more groups with the RMR 75’s for confirmation after adjusting the scope. Shot both middle targets with BCM upper gun w/Burris 6X scope and RMR 75 gr. 10 round groups.
I’m good with these RMR 75 grain rounds and the load. I will load out a couple thousand for use and to replace the M855 I have sitting in some pre-loaded mags.
I never had a nice AR trigger…wow! Getting another CMC. If I had that trigger on my BCM with the scope, I am convinced the groups would have been even better..with a factory duty grade 16” barrel.
I also really like that DD grip for put on the DD. Gonna get one for the SOLGW lower.
