Robbers attack shoppers in L.A., one is armed and fires back

This is pretty interesting. In L.A. the only people who are granted a carry permit are celebrities and people who have to carry a lot of cash and/or valuables for their business, for example diamond dealers. So here are 3 casually dressed young people standing talking in a shopping center parking lot, a car pulls up, the people from the car get out and start pointing guns at them, apparently to rob them. One of the young people pulls a gun and shoots at the robbers, then everybody runs away. Article says 2 of the would-be robbers have been charged, is silent as to the identity or fate of their would-be victims.

Well, okay. For what it's worth, in California CCWs are issued by the county of residence and are good for the entire state. Some counties are essentially "shall issue" while others are "no chance, unless you know Gavin personally". My own CCW was not issued in Los Angeles county, but you can be damn sure I'm packing whenever I have to go there!

It's also worth noting that the cops don't know the identity of the "victim" because he and his buddies ran off and didn't report it. This may be less "CCW holders defends himself" and more "Drug dealers get into gunfight".

It's being reported that they had been shopping when the robbers confronted them in the parking lot... shots fired, brown shopping bag dropped (shown in vid) and the 3 intended victims run off as well as the 2 robbers with holes in their legs
