Just looked one over in a store, but have never heard anyone rate or comment. Can anyone clue me in...are they reliable, accurate ARs?

Not ARs but a Stoner 63 variants, they are AWESOME!!!!! Heavy, but awesome. Parts availability and price are the only complaints I have heard on that piece.

Check out the Bren kit for the gun, turns it into a decent SAW.

Due to Robinson Armament habitually making poor business decisions, I would not buy anything with their name associated with it.

M96- poorly supported by the company.

Vepr- Robarm ended up not importing them anymore, for reasons unknown. Now someone else has the gig.

XCR- vaporware for the longest time. Now they're available, but for how long, and will they be supported any better than the M96?

Thanks...no.

This was also my rationale for shying away from the XCR, I watched the M96 saga unfold.

Not to mention, that the M96 is pretty heavy for a non-modular 5.56 rifle. I don't mind a little extra weight; but I like to be getting something for it - a bigger caliber, neat gadgets... something.

What is the price of the M96 in question? If it is a bargain it might be worth it.

The XCR is a much better rifle in every sense. RA has also become a much better run company with much better customer service since the XCR came out. They are aware of the mistakes they made and their actions show they have changed.

I could talk about SIG and the Mosquito/GSR/556 debacles but I do not want this thread to get too off track.

If I was a serious collector it would be a must, I believe it is the closest thing to an original Eugene Stoner model to ever make production.

So far my Robinson M96’s have proved to be reliable and accurate.

I find my Recon Version light and nicely balanced.

My Heavy Fluted Carbine is not light, but makes a good SAW.

Accuracy is decent with surplus ammo for a rifle with a quick change barrel.

I have most of the accessories that were produced. Some of these may be very difficult to find now.
