ruger, i like that comment you left. i never said a bad thing about the higher end pistols. i was just showing that a low end one works fine and you dont have to dump 1,000 on a colt 1911 to get a reliable pistol. i will be the first to admit that, there are minor QC issues with the RIA 1911's. for instance the one in the video shot way high until i lowered the sights and the barrel ling pin would walk out a little during firing until i staked it in using the tip of a philips screwdriver and a hammer to peen metal over to hold it in place. i've read of high end 1911's barrel link pins walking out and other's shooting high too.
there customer service is EXCELLENT! i bought my first RIA tactical used and had a few stembinds and nose dives. the feed ramp was cut too deep and left very little gap between the barrel ramp and frame ramp. i told them it was a personal defense weapon and got them to send me a BRAND SPANKING NEW pistol. let's see colt do that. haha the pistol they sent me is the one featured in the video. it was a tight fitting gun when it was new, but after 1700 rounds, it's loosened up a bit. i've had it only 6 months and i plan to shoot it until the frame/slide is wore out. then i'll send it back to armscor and they will fit me a new slide or send me a new gun. the cover their guns indefinitely.
my ambi safety got a little loose around 1300 rounds so i called them and they sent me a new set. few companies will do that.
