I've never done it, but in the movies/tv it was always a way to shoot somebody without killing them or causing severe injury--sort of the gun equivilant of whacking somebody with a frying pan.
It works if you want to teach trespassers a lesson, It used to be used at cemetaries, for kids who broke in and defaced the headstones, amoung other things
thank you for the link, friend and i were just wondering if riocksalt was still used, or did the beanbag and other less than lethal goodies replace it. seems that it couldve been used at one time, but not many have used it
It works,, the powder residue reacts with the salt to really create intense burning.
The farmers used to use it around their watermelon patches to keep the kids out,,, also leaves a dark patch or splotches IN the skin,, don't ask me how I know.
