Hi all. My brother has a Romanian M69 22 that is a tack driver with the iron sights. Unfortunately he, like a lot of us, is getting older and his eyes are not what they used to be. There seems some slight grooves in the top of the receiver but he says it does not look quite like a dovetail to him. Anyway, question is, does this firearm have a dovetail for scope rings and/or is there any way to mount an optics of some kind to this firearm without drilling and tapping?

Thanks for your time,

humm others say some are dove tail like this
from another forum
Try to find a Weaver V22 scope 9they are all over eBay for cheap). They are 7/8 tube and come w/ their own rings. They will usually grip the (so-called) "dovetail of a Romanian. the scope is long and matches the lines of a Romanian. The V22 will clear the rear sight of a Romanian

Thanks guys for the replies. I appreciate it. I have sent this all along to my brother so he can decide what he wants to do.
