Wonderful

This is the first 2008 runner that I would actually vote for... in fact this is the best political news I have heard in years.

I am for him. Too bad not enough people are true believers in small government to elect him.

As I have said so many time before; Be a Libertarian, but run for office as a a main stream candidate, not a losing 3rd party candidate.
He will get my vote.

I think tha there could be enough Libertarians running for office that they could take over the Republican Party.

I was just listening to NPR this morning and lamenting my choice for 2008. I am now overjoyed. I wrote to his congressional office and offered to work on his campaign and donate money.

If you feel the way I do, I recommend you do the same. Work for this.

Gotta Support My Congressman!

He makes me glad I live in Galveston :D So I know who I'll be voting for come Texas Primary season.

As to him winning the nomination? Dunno - but Comrade Klinton wasn't very well known at the time he made HIS run. If Paul gets some grass roots support - some money from larger conservative donors, who knows?

A year and a half is an AWFUL long time in politics - ya never know what kinda gaffe a better known candidate could commit.

Sounds good to me. I surely am not voting for any of the other RINO candidates that have come forward so far.

How do we go about contributing $$$ to Dr. Paul's campaign fund?

What's his position on the borders?

I can envision Paul as the President of a smaller America to come but not of the big closet-socialist America that is. Sorry, just being a realist here.

Forget it. Ron Paul isn't one of the Ivy league anointed, party faithful approved puppets that the Bush cronies want. He thinks for himself and points out when the Republican Party is wrong. He will be an interesting footnote and nothing more.

Ah, but if our election system still works as many think then what some bureaucrats think will not matter, it's the votes that will.

When Pat Buchanan first ran for the Republican nomination he was hugely popular. Totally outgunned in terms of funding, as compared to the Republican anointed candidates, yet he was winning the early primaries, and would likely have won the nomination. To stop him, the establishment Republicans formed an unholy alliance with the mainstream media and the Democrat Party machine to destroy his reputation. All the sudden, all you ever saw were establishment Republicans trashing him on TV, suggesting he was a Nazi and a gun nut. He was made to look foolish constantly in the mainstream media. That was it. The general public fell for it, and he started losing primaries left and right, and was soon a footnote. Don't be surprise if we see a reprise of this same unholy alliance to destroy Ron Paul.

Bingo, Hawkeye.

<sigh> Still, it will be nice to dream for a week or two, and maybe get a chance to pull a primary lever for something other than "the lesser of two. . . "

That's until the Skull-n-Bones boys meet and select two more frat brothers to run against each other. :barf:

Exactly. I will not totally give up hope, though. You never know. The Soviet Union actually imploded in the late 1990s. Who would have ever guessed that was possible?

Theres no way the party will take him seriously.......But he is the only one with backbone to tell Washington DC where to go.
If he ever was a serious threat....the system would do its best to try to destroy him.

he would have my vote.....would be the only GOPer I would vote for.

Bingo, corporate America and the media control the election they make or
break a candidate and the voting public follow along. To have a true leader
for America and it's working class would be nothing short of a miracle.

If you stop and think, miracles happen every day! So, to me, there is no reason this miracle shouldn't happen either.

We, the Conservatives and Libertarians, cannot sit back and let Ron do it all on his own. We have to get in there, let him know we are for him, with our time, and our money.

This is our best chance in a long time.

Does Ron Paul have a website yet?

The internet is one of the most powerful tools available to us.

He might be well liked by people on this board, but most people on this board are pretty far to the right compared to the rest of the voting public

Well seeing as how over 70% of his finacial contributions come from outside of Texas, and over 90% of contributions are from idividuals (I wonder if any other politician can make that claim) I would say he seems to have lots of support. Remember he ran as a Lib in the 88 presidential race and pulled in over 400,000 votes. Those are pretty impressive numbers for a third party canidate. If he could get the Repulican nomination he could win. This man is truly a great american and worth 100% of our backing. Any idea how to volunteer on his campaign staff?

This doesn't mean he is running yet, I certainly hope so but keep in mind Billary has had the same paperwork filed for 4 years now and hasn't run yet.

Thus "create a presidential exploratory committee". Tho if it would help convince him to run I'll send every dime I can.
