This thread is a study in red herrings. I didn't see one comment on what she actually said. I'm beggin' you. No more Rosie threads. It's a waste of even a cursory review before moving on.

I have 2 points on Rosie in this particular instance.

1. Her point that the Iraqi people could see invaders as terrorists maybe wrong but it's not impossible. In fact I don't doubt that some, a small minority, probably do. So I won't condemn her here. She was wrong to say that our troops have killed all of those Iraqi civilians as it's 99+% Iraqi on Iraqi. I can't stand these kinds of statements because terrorists can use them as recruiting tools. "See even the American media says that the Americans are slaughtering Iraqis".

2. She says that Rudy was part of a (mythical) cover up because he got the job done in 1/3rd the time that was expected? It wasn't immediately shipped to Fishkill and was sorted to be sure any human remains were recovered and it was all investigated prior to going anywhere. So she is 100% wrong here, and Rudy has every reason to be offended about this. I'm no fan of Rudy politically but he deserves ALOT of credit for his handling of the whole 9/11 situation.

I really can't stand this woman, I truly believe that she must harbor some kind of hatred for America as she misses no opportunity to make everything about us look bad.

Mostly in Iraq it's extremists who are killing their own countrymen (along with our troops).

However, it's important to keep in mind that our troops in Iraq are not defending America or the freedom of the American people. They are protecting the lives of the decent Iraqis who have been the victims of Saddam Hussein and other tyrants for generations.

While it's true that American intervention in Iraq was the impetus for all the violence that's currently going on there, I guarantee that the people who used to be oppressed are doing a lot better and their oppressors are shaking in their boots and hiding from justice right now.

And runfrumu, I don't believe that your comments have anything to do with the topic at hand.
