Rossi 454 casull

They were a great deal when they were about $450 or so before production went on hiatus for several years. Wish I had purchased one then. Can't make myself cough up nearly a grand for a Rossi now though.

So, in answer to your question, no I don't have any experience with one. I just wish I did.

When they were 495.00 my brother got a hex 24" and a 16" 44 mag and I got the same in .357. Never saw a .454 except in their adds. With a 45 70 not sure how that would fit in the stair step of rounds. I think the price will keep going up as less people are left that know who used the 1892 's in the movies. But the days of the 495.00 Marlins are also over

I would encourage anyone that wants one not to judge them by what they hear about Rossi revolvers and other guns. They are truly very well made rifles and if you want to shoot heavy bullets out of a pistol cartridge carbine, they're a fantastic option.

they make a 454 Rossi lever gun? were is the link, come on! I’m trying to save my money

I will stay with my $400 Rossi 45-70. It is a double handful. I'm thinking maybe plug the magazine and get an Illinois deer this year.

from what I remember was a close copy of the Marlin 1895. I have a new Henry all weather, brushed chrome 18.5 inch barrel, with both the tube loading and unloading and a loading gate, and looks so much like a Marlin would have to take a Micrometer and the name on the barrel to tell the difference

I don’t have a 454 but I do have a single shot rifle in 500Mag and I’d rather shoot my revolver in the same cartridge any day. The rifle pounds your shoulder but with the revolver you have two wrists, elbows, and shoulders to absorb. I’m sure the 454 would be pretty tame compared but still something to think about. Before anyone calls me out on saying 454 is tame, I routinely shoot my 460Mag as well and that is quite a step up from 454.

I have just purchased a new on but it does not have the tube load option only the side gate. I have not shot it yet but it is a nice little rifle. The 454C loads I have are about .030 -.050 too long to fit in the gate but cycle when I drop them into the action, it is the MP 340 bullet.

I had one in 480 ruger 20 years ago. Hope they’re better now. Great concept but not very accurate back then
