I acquired one of these 5 shot snubs. Has wood grips.
My Q: does the addition of a tyler t-grip give close to the same grip feel as the pachmayr compact grips.
The reason for asking is i can usually get the pachmayrs lots cheaper.
Thanks

I can not compare directly to a Pach grip, but I have a T-grip on one and it is similar feel to the grip on a Taurus 85. The T-grip filled in the space high on the grip so there was a better angle of the gun while holding it. Hopefully that makes sense.

I love Tyler Ts. It is hard to explain, but they fill up the space and make a small grip fill your hand and feel like a big grip while not altering the overall size of the gun.

They are well worth $40....a few years ago, the company was out of business for a while. Used Tylers were bringing upwards of 100 bucks on eBay.

Another big fan of the Tyler T-Grip Adapter. Works great, feels great, and doesn't add extra bulk to the grip frame. The one that currently resides on my S&W Model 649 was originally on a nickel plated Model 38 that I had years ago; I even polished up the aluminum grip adapter a little bit so it would look more like the nickel plated finish. Right at home on any J frame size revolver.

See the space behind the trigger guard on most DA revolvers? Tucking your finger up in there just about guarantees it will get smacked by the trigger guard. The Tyler device moves your finger down out of the way ( a little ). The Hogue grip does the same thing but adds a lot more bulk all around which is not really desirable on a carry revolver (unless you plan to miss a lot). A Tyler will not "feel" the same as a Pach or Hogue grip. The Tyler fills your hand front to rear but not side to side. Pachs or Hogues are great on a range gun but a little much for a "concealment" blaster. Small snub DA revolvers are not range guns IMO. But they are VERY useful for goin' downtown....... Personally I like the Pach compacts - I have had a pair on my Charter Bulldog for many years and they do take a considerable amount of the sting out and give me much better purchase than the smooth wood grips. I can still remember the first time I shot that Bulldog with the factory wood grips. Aye chihuahua!

Would like a T-Grip, but most are $40
It's an absurd price. Years ago, when the control price was whatever it cost for a pair of Pachmayrs, the Tyler T-Grip was an inexpensive alternative to a pair of third-party grips. Now the price has skyrocketed. I've always liked how they felt, but they always required the original grips to work. Pachmayrs didn't. You could just swap them out.

The Tylers have become too expensive in my view, becoming as expensive as actual replacement grips. I recently put a pair of Pachmayrs on my Rossi M88, but they were made for the S&W 60.

Very nice. The fit was very good.
