I looked at this rifle a couple weeks ago at the local shop. I very much like the idea of a modernized levergun and have no requirement for all my levers to be traditional. So the combination of features with the threaded muzzle and integrated receiver sight/scout rail, along with the overall quality of the rifle really appeals to me. I've always been very positive on Rossi 1892's but after a lull in availability, I noticed the latest shipments over the last year or so have been greatly improved. Monday I went back and did some horse trading to get it. Then I ordered another Leupold 1.5-4x Scout scope and Warne rings, today they came.

I have an older Marlin 336 that I found used and cheap ($200) many moons ago, as it had been chopped to 16". It suffered some accidental neglect when I moved to TN and spent quite a long time in a damp basement inside a hard case. The results were not good and I have been unable to bring myself to deal with it. This year I will finally clean it up and make something of it. Haven't fully decided what direction it will take but I'm sure it will work in concert with this Rossi when I start ordering parts.

I like the few improvements rossi did to the r95 I hope they do one in 360bh and stainless. That's that stock and foreend made out of, bell and Carlson used to make a stock set like there medalist I thought would be very rugged on a stainless gun.
I'd also like to see a .35cal.....or bigger. If you know anybody that makes a synthetic stock for them, let me know. No luck finding them on Ebay.

With the snowballing interest in lever guns maybe somebody will bring back the Ram Line stocks.

I looked at two R95s a few weeks ago and was okay with them but there were numerous things I did not like. I handled another today and thought it better all around with better butt pad fit and better wood to metal fit. Same to same, I would rather a Marlin and pay the difference. And I just bought a R92 so I am not a Rossi hater at all.

I like the ramline stocks many guys didn't like them but they were cheap and good for a working rifle, I missed out on a pre 64 m70 one I really needed, had the cc in my hand ordering and it sold lol. I'm sure over time they should improve the fit the 92 have gotten better the last few years. Loonwulf has a r95 coming interesting how he likes it.

I forgot about the B&C's and was looking for the Ramline. My brain is not the steel trap it once was. ;)
I just looked quick but can't even find when they made them, I know they did must be 10 years ago now. Don't know if they made them in the old Carbonite or whatever the old b&c stocks were call. Some day I'll pick up some of that carbon fiber woven tube I've always wanted to try making a carbon stock.

I am really wanting to get a Rossi R95 in 30-30. I want it because of the 1/12 rifling so I can more easily shoot lead bullet loads. I also want the same R95 in 45/70 and there is the problem. I can't decide which one I want the most. And no, getting both is not an option. I have looked at one at Academy and was impressed with how nice the gun looked. I am already set up to load 30-30. One in 45/70 would mean getting brass, bullets, bullet mold and dies.

So I hope you and the poster loonwolf will have accuracy reports coming soon. If you look over on the firingline forum another poster tested his with two different 150gr loads and shot groups in the 1/2" range at 100 yards. Thats darn good for any lever action.

And like the other poster I wish it was offered in 35 Remington or 360BH. When I was at Academy I asked the guy behind the counter if they had any 360 Buckhammer ammo and he had never even heard of the round. Thats not good. I thought this was one of the new offerings that just might take off.

Rangerpoint offers stuff for them but they are pricey.....not appealing to me either, tho they look well made.

Glad your happy with yours Craig! Im digging your setup and might duplicate it l.
Hopefully ill have my classic next week and can do some shooting.

Im interested in the 45-70 also. 30-30s a good way to decide if I like owning lever guns enough to expand the collection, but im positive if i decide i do, a big bore will be next.

Just looked on Starline Brass and while they make 30-30 and 38-55 brass they don't even list 360 Buckhammer brass. Maybe they are waiting to see how popular it gets before they commit to the tooling. It should be almost the same as 38-55 brass since its straitened out 30-30 brass and the 30-30 came from the 38-55. I guess what was old is new again.

The 30-30 is good enough for me. It has killed every animal in North America for over 100 years without much problem. I do like the .35 Remington as well.

I did have a Marlin 45-70 and like a dumbass sold it. The first three shots at 100 yard were all touching. I had the dies, bullets and lead bullets and lots of brass and for reasons I can no longer remember I sold the gun. Stupid. But you will never go wrong with a 30-30. A top notch hunters round.
