Ruger’s Lightweight Compact Revolver?

I like carrying it. I like holding it. I like dryfiring it. At the range, it's accurate.

I absolutely hate shooting it.
That's what's kept me from seriously considering the LCR. My arthritic hands need a gun with more weight to reduce the recoil enough so I can actually enjoy practicing at the range. Without adequate practice I probably wouldn't get the accuracy I'd need to feel confident carrying it. I think the SP101 2.25" at 26 ounces that handles 38+P easily is the ticket for me at this stage of my life.

They aren't terrible with wadcutters or critical defense. I also deal with uncle Arthur unfortunately.

There is a 22lr model that could be used to build skill sets without recoil. The trigger pull is much heavier which sort of made is useless for my purposes. I guess loaded with federal punch, 8 rounds would serve pretty decent for defense. Those punch rounds go like 15 inches.

My wife went through a few different carry guns several years ago and finally got the LCR and she’s been happy ever since. She carry’s it in a HighNoon Mr. Softy that she also loves.

Her only complaint is I don’t take her shooting often enough. I have thought about getting a 327 LCR so she could practice with some soft loads, the 38’s are little more recoil than she likes.

I used to have one, I think it's my Mom's now. It's a great gun. I'd like to get another one at some point. Right now my only other revolver is a GP100.

Are you noticing a theme with my wheelguns?

Yup...my first was a blued 4" GP100 followed by a 5" stainless & 3" blued fixed sight & 2.25" SP101. Check out the Ruger Six Series too. All great revolvers that will out live me.

I've got two, both 38's, when they were cheaper and I couldn't pass up the deal. To me, they are excellent utility revolvers. I can throw it in my pocket when I want to dress up and not wear a jacket or vest and it disappears pretty well to anyone who isn't one of us. I usually carry it as a backup gun on my reaction side, so I can reach it with my reaction hand should something happen to my weapon hand (injury, protecting my primary weapon in a grab, or tied up making space). While I prefer a heavier caliber, it is something I don't feel unarmed with and which fulfills its purpose really well.

I don't know, those don't really speak to me. I like the big beefy barrels on the SP101 and the GP100.
