ruger 10/22 to .17hm2?

i've been looking around for varmint gun and have decided on the 10/22 but prefer in the .17hm2 caliber. i read somewhere that all you had to do was switch the barrel over for a conversion, now do they make 10/22's in .17 already or any other semi auto .17's out there for a fair price? I'll be looking for one at a gun show tomorrow.

marlin and kimber made a 17m2 in semi auto, also volquartzen and maybe magtech. those last three will be big bucks. the 10.22 requires a few mods; which they may have the kits for at your gunshow. You will need the bbl, a heavier bolt handle, and a heavier recoil spring, at a minimum.
