I have 2 Ruger Pistols, a 97DC and a P90. I bought 1000 Ranier 200gr HP bullets to reload for these pistols. Using Unique powder and loads from 5.3- 7.0 I have problems with stove piping and failure to eject on the lower powder loads and stove pipes on the higher above 6-6.8 grns of Unique. I've change COL from 1.20-1.255 and still get stove pipe failures to eject. The nose of the bullet has obvious scrape marks and dents. I've changed magazines, same problem. Other than the fact that groups run into the 6" size at 20 yds I'm ready to :banghead: I get groups of 2" at 25 yds with my MKIII and 2.5" with my XD 40S&W and Glock so I'm guessing it is not my shooting. Round nose 230 gr bullets, worse accuracy but no jams. Any suggestions other than SELL THE GUNS!

Rainers use a hard plating on their bullets, so you can push them pretty good. Being a plated bullet you have to be careful with the TC. If you cut the plating your accuracy will go to pot. Only use enough TC to remove the mouth expanding. If your using a LFCD, chuck it for now, it can cause all kind of problems in not right. I do not use Unique in anything, just does not meter well in my AP setup. I use WST for my 45acp loads, WST is a very clean burning powder and very accurate.

Now for your ejection problems. You need to test the tension on the extractor and make sure the hook is not chipped. With the slide off the extractor should hold an empty brass pretty solid. With the slide have you test function? If you pull the slide back with a dummy round in the chamber and mag is the round in the mag hitting the bullet knocking it off. If these are new guns make sure they are lubed properly. If shooting in the cold elements, use a syn oil that will not thicken up. If factory ammo works ok it's not your gun but should be accurate. If not you may be having problem with recoil, use a bench rest for added support.
