I've been trying to convince myself to buy one in .270, but I just couldn't get past the stock. It just seemed flimsy when compared to something like a Thompson Center Venture or Savage. These two rifles will run about 100-150 more than the Ruger, but you'd probably spend that much trying to find a better stock (if you COULD find one).
All of that said, the ones I've held have gone naturally to my shoulder, had a very nice bolt, and a crisp, just-right trigger. I could take or leave the mat-black finish, but for the price, it'd be a welcome addition to most households.
