Its really ugly just like the RPR and it think it should have come with an AR15 style butt stock so people can customize it. But I think the concept is pretty cool.

Looks like a fun gun, but don't hold your breath. Ruger is notorious for announcing a new product and not getting it into stores for months. Plus they go up 5%-7% per year.

Ugly! But genuinely arousing...
Very cool concept. MSRP doesn't seem too bad either... I'd like it better with wood, but that would drive that attractive MSRP up up and away!

Let's keep an eye on this one... When is it expected to show up in stores?

What do they mean by " adjustable bolt throw to 3" center fire.... To avoid short stroking..."

Hummm.....start with a heavy rim fire target barrel, drag it through the tactical plastic parts bin and call it a precision rifle. Guess that's the new way of creating a market with existing inventory.
I agree with the " new market" ... But again, what would a very similar rifle cost in woood? And it may lack a few possibly insignificant features like the wrench storage compartment.

Ruger continues to churn out new stuff, while the other gun makers sit back and suffer, resting on their laurels (Colt, S&W...)

Maybe Ruger will do a lever action rifle...

I would think an offering in 17wsm would make more sense.
How much more precision can this rifle squeeze from 22lr ammo? It’s going to run out of steam before any of these precision parts could come into play.

I love the fact that Ruger is coming out with new offerings but I just can’t see myself getting one in 22lr when my scoped Ruger American rimfire sporter already shoots 1 hole groups at 100 yards.

Considering the Tactical look, its probably aimed at the younger crowd perhaps. And, not everyone has a tack driver .22 yet.
Santa brought my wife (;)) a nice scoped Marlin 88 to play with. Cant wait to see what she can do with it.

I am skeptical that it will be a tack driver. Hopefully, it will be more accurate than your average out of the box 10/22.

I know guys that shoot "tactical" . 22 matches. Everything is just scaled down from what it would be if they were using centerfire. They shoot out to about 250 yards max. They need an accurate gun and decent ammo to be competitive. I am sure this new Ruger will be of interest to them.

My 10/22 VTR shoots sub MOA out to 200 yards. That is as far as I've taken it. If this is as good I'll consider it as a range gun. But I'll wait for some range reports.

I really like it.
I could easily see myself buying one.
I agree that they should have stayed with the AR15 buttstock to allow customization. Everything else they got right. They are using an existing, wildly popular magazine. The barrel can be changed out like a centerfire rifle. 30 MOA scope base. Adjustable trigger. Threaded barrel. Big bolt handle. Adjustable cheek riser plus it's in a chassis......................

I love it.
I will probably be the first kid on my block to buy one.

I've been considering running my RPR in "factory" class at precision rifle matches this season, so I WILL be adding one of these rimfires as a training rifle. I've been using a Savage Mark II in a Boyd's pro-varmint stock as a trainer for years, but I'll admit, it doesn't match the fit of my chassis rifles worth a damn. It's fairly close for my A3's and A5's, but I've really started to appreciate having the same grip and stock on my AR's as I do on my chassis bound RPR. Having a matching 22LR trainer is well worth the $450-500 street price this should bring.

I would say it mostly for looks though I'm sure it will be a good accurate rifle. I would also be interested in a 17 HMR
